When Kix released this album, we were well aware of their rock prowess, but the anti-suicide ballad "Don't Close Your Eye's" became an instant classic. we all knew it the first time we heard it! The Kix were a fun, funny hard rock band that we fell in love with as kids but never took them as seriously as other hard rock bands of the time. Don't Close Your Eye's would have forever cemented Kix on the radio and as a band worth hearing a second time. All these years later it would be easy to dismiss them and confuse them with a lot of hair bands that came out in the 80's, but when you start looking more closely at the timing and quality of their music you start to realize that they have many bands a step ahead for hair, few of whom possessed truly enduring talent.
