We LOVE Cocomelon and most of their licensed toys are awesome, but the sheep just doesn't suit me. This requires 2 triple A batteries, which are not included in the scope of delivery. A colored rug is a sheet of paper that can easily be lost or torn. This carpet must be at least laminated as it is part of the toy. Press "Sheep" into "Demo" mode and it works by setting it to the color in the matte. Then he sings baa baa that color. It's a nice idea, but the paper carpet sucks. I've tried placing the sheep on other colored surfaces and it doesn't always recognize the color but by default it stays white and sings a song. The idea of this toy is cute but needs improvement.

SHEEP CHANGES COLOR - a fun activity to teach your child about colors! Place the sheep on the rainbow mat of any color (included) and watch the sheep magically light up and change color to match the color it's sitting on!
