Review on Ametherm SL32 2R025 NTC Thermistor by Brad Jeffress

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not TOO difficult to install

Like other reviewers, my Aqua Rite Goldline AQR Salt Chlorine Generator stopped working. The "Power" and "Generation" lights were not lit. I checked the fuse and first made sure there is power to the panel. Despite the fact that it had power, the top two indicators (power and generation) did not light up. Also, my pool had no chlorine and turned green. I decided to replace the thermistor (as I saw on YouTube and read in the comments here). Although I'm pretty handy, I don't know anything about replacing electronic components on a circuit board. I watched some YouTube videos about soldering and desoldering and bought a cheap soldering iron and some solder. After removing the board (easy - the wires are color coded and the board is well marked (take some pictures just in case)), I gave it a try. Overall, it took about 15 minutes to remove and replace the thermistor. It really wasn't too difficult. I reinstalled the board and turned the power back on and everything worked. The power and generator lights came on. Of course, the best thing is that my green pool is blue and clear again. I don't know how long this new thermistor will last (the original only lasted about 4 years), but if it dies too, I'll probably replace it until the entire PCB dies. I'm very glad I tried it. I saved a lot of money and now I know I can fix this problem if it comes back.
