AquaRite Salt Cell Fix!

Bought for my Hayward AquaRite after the cell stopped working properly. The electricity and generator lights were out and the pool was starting to look dirty and greenish. After doing some research on google and youtube I found that if you take the board out of the box and look at the back you can see a "burnt" or brown area where the current limiter is soldered. As soon as I saw this, like in the video, I searched the internet for this part and did it overnight. I bought a 30W soldering iron…

$6 or $450? Your choice.

This part is a common failure on Hayward brine chlorinators. If your Swimpure appears to be working but the green "Generation" light goes out after a few seconds of operation, this is most likely the problem. This part gets very hot under normal use and will fail after a few seasons of use. Mine lasted a little less than five years. Anyone with basic tools and minimal mechanical skills can replace it. Just be sure to turn off the power before you begin, and remember that a typical 40-watt prong

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Not TOO difficult to install

Like other reviewers, my Aqua Rite Goldline AQR Salt Chlorine Generator stopped working. The "Power" and "Generation" lights were not lit. I checked the fuse and first made sure there is power to the panel. Despite the fact that it had power, the top two indicators (power and generation) did not light up. Also, my pool had no chlorine and turned green. I decided to replace the thermistor (as I saw on YouTube and read in the comments here). Although I'm pretty handy, I don't know anything about…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something different
