Used for wiping disks. I bought it because I was tired of searching for disk cleaning software and getting mixed reviews. You don't have to worry that the operating system won't allow you to erase data from your hard drive. This worked on all but 1 hard drive I tested and I think I tested about 8. There are erasing methods to choose from. This is a simple device with an external power cord, printer and hard drive connection. The hardest part is removing the hard drive. All you have to do is connect the hard drive, turn on Driver Erazer, view the settings and confirm. Once it starts, just leave and come back later. Adapters for non-Sata/IDE 3.5 drives are available.
