AFTER 5 MONTHS I NEED TO REPLACE THE ANODE ROD - REALLY? We live in Scottsdale, Arizona and the water in our home is filtered and softened by Kinetico. Our other water heaters have no problems with the anode rod. So I removed the Bosch water heater, removed the heating element to inspect the anode rod and found that the anode rod had completely dissolved! AFTER 5 months? Now the fittings for cold and hot water are rusted. Even though my multimeter showed a positive electrical ground, I even added a direct ground to the heater plate before reassembling the Bosch unit. I reinstalled the Bosch water heater and will see if this rusting situation comes up again. In the meantime I am looking for another manufacturer to replace this device. I've had different heaters in other houses and never had this problem. Luckily I'm an engineer and can clear things up: How much would it cost you to fix this device?
