Therefore I never write reviews, I decided to give some information about this type of device and its intended use. First, it only has a 30 degree angle, so the fish should be right under it unless you're in deep water. Second, it doesn't read the first two feet of water, so you won't catch small swimming fish. I bought this thing to test the fish in my pond, my pond is only 7 feet deep, it doesn't read the first two feet, it only gives me about a 5 foot reading, and then when the angle is only 30 degrees , it does not cover a very large angle. It is better to take with an angle of 90 degrees. The only ones I've researched and found that read anything over two feet are the $200+ models. Don't buy them if you're trying to use them for shallow water fishing, you won't get the data you want. Another thing about mine, the charging cable needs to be tethered to charge, the connections are loose and the temp gauge in F always stays at 21 degrees, I know my pond is 68 degrees right now. Anyway, good luck and do some research
