I bought this toothbrush for my 4 year old daughter because we had trouble keeping her teeth clean. I don't know what happened but suddenly her teeth looked very stained all the time. As soon as we started using this toothbrush, we saw improvement almost immediately. Her teeth looked shiny and clean. I didn't know if she would be worried about the vibration, but she was fine with that. And I love that Sonicare adds little musical alerts when you need to switch sides. She still laughs a little when the warning is given. However, the main reason why I wanted to write a review about this toothbrush is as follows. In the Q&A section of the product page here someone mentioned that it is important for parents to help children brush their teeth with this toothbrush as brushing can seriously damage gums if you are not careful. I wish someone would have told ME that before I started using my Sonicare a few years ago. After inadvertently pressing too hard while using this brush, I have severe gum recession - to the point that several dentists have told me I will likely need a tissue graft in one area. (Ugh, I'm not looking forward to it.) Thing is, apparently you're only supposed to be holding this brush with three fingers while brushing -- that's how little pressure you should put on your teeth/gums. If your child is too young to know how much (or how little) to press on their gums when brushing, you probably want to help them. Overall, we really like this brush. It changed my daughter's smile a lot. Also, Revain has a brush at such a great price that it's definitely worth trying.
