Which riipoff is the best in power strips and surge protectors

I've been using this for a little over a month when my other power strip that I've been using for years finally gave out. I only have my computer, wifi and a fan mostly connected to my hot pot to make a cup of coffee. I hooked up a hot pot tonight and the extension cord just died. I unplugged everything and eventually the light came on so I tried plugging it back in and it went off again. I'll look for one that works so I can connect more than one or things. I hope it comes back to life before my laptop battery dies.
