I used to buy glass straws and have used them for more than five years, none of them broke. Yes, they do break, but they're not as fragile as you might think. After my visitors broke a few of these over the years I decided to buy a few more as we use them daily. When I stumbled upon these glass straws I was pleased to know that they were made by a small company right here in the USA. This is important to me as all jobs go abroad. Although I try to buy local products, I buy imported goods but only from companies who are unaware that they either pay poorly or use unsafe materials or methods to manufacture their products, especially products intended for cooking. They may be a few bucks more expensive than imported ones, but for me it's worth it. The straws are wide enough to effortlessly pass through thick smoothies and are easy to clean.
