This pointer pen works like a charm. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and I've had no trouble connecting it to different laptops for presentations. I like the USB device that allows the pointer to communicate with the laptop. It stores in the base of the pointer when not in use and is held in the storage port with a magnetic snap to keep it in place until you pull it out to use with your laptop. It pulls out easily but won't accidentally fall out. The driver for this USB device loads almost instantly and is great for jumping from one PowerPoint chart to another or going back to a previous chart. It's totally intuitive and even an old dog like me can easily learn this new trick. The laser does what it's supposed to do. It's bright enough to be used in a partially lit room at over 20 or 30 feet away, and it stays focused, not diffuse, at that distance. I have a spare battery with the device in case I need it during a presentation, but so far the original battery is still working. I recommend it to anyone who wants good human factors gear that is intuitive, comfortable and easy to use.
