Review on πŸ“Έ 5-in-1 Reflective Photo Basics: Westcott 301 40-Inch Reflector by Michael Hudson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool for shaping light!

Honestly, if you want better results with natural light, or even want to add some fill light from a flash, you can't go wrong with the Westcott 301 Photo Basics 40" 5" 1 Reflector make. The fact that it's 5 in one gives you a lot of options. My personal favorites are the silver reflector and diffuser. This is the perfect tool for shaping light without spending a lot of money. That's an absolutely amazing price. I would actually buy two if you are serious about your photography. The Westcott reflector is suitable for both professionals and beginners. The Westcott 301 5-in-1 Reflector is easy to use and comes with a handy carrying case. You can ask an assistant to hold it or put it on a stand (sold separately). It is very durable and looks more professional than using a parasol from Walmart's automotive department. (Nothing wrong with that, they also work as a reflector). How it works: The silver side reflects the light very well and only emits the color of the light that hits it. The golden side gives you warmer skin tones in situations where you need a warmer light. The white side can be used when you need a fill light but don't need as much output as the silver side can give. White is not as reflective and is softer. The black side subtracts light. If you're in a situation where you want to block out the light, consider using this side of the reflector - a diffuser is great for sunny days when you want to soften the light on the subject. I recommend buying 2 reflectors as you can use one to diffuse the light and the other to fill it. Great product from Westcott and at this price you can't beat it. This is a great tool for both professionals and beginners. Brian Rogers Jr. Photographer/Digital Artist[.][.]National Association of Photoshop Professionals
