Just received these covers yesterday and yes they smelled bad of chemicals but. I threw her over the hedge near the house for the night. In the morning I wiped them off with a needle solution on a damp sponge and they are fine. I just feel a bit of rubber like a bath mat and it's gone. I was immediately convinced of the quality. Thicker than expected, easy to install, lots of mounts. I am very happy with them. Looks good in my 4 runner.
