Review on Skunk2 307 05 0260 Pro Series Intake Manifold by Kevin Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic performance part

I recently had the pleasure of installing this on my D15 Honda Del Sol. THIS IS PART OF EFFICIENCY AND NOT YOUR STANDARD OEM REPLACEMENT. READ PLEASE. For starters, this is an AWESOME performance app for your Honda build. This is a MASSIVE intake manifold compared to the factory application that offers a significantly increased flow rate, one of the key elements of performance. Mine is paired with an Alpha Series 70mm throttle body and I recommend it. Throttle response is instant and the power increase is substantial. Anyone serious about building a true sport Honda can go down this route. (This will set you apart from the "riser"). Overall, without dynamometer tuning (and some other mods), I'm expecting a power increase of over 30%. Of course, this is by no means my ONLY update, but I would contribute most to it. Some people are more concerned about the sound (which doesn't make much sense to me), but for those of you, the deep guttural tone accentuates engine noise. It will also result in a deeper exhaust note for those of you who are concerned about this. I am a mechanic and have worked in the heavy duty industry for some time. When you buy something like this, even if it's "made for your car," something has to be processed. I just want to warn anyone who buys this before they are disappointed after their purchase. - Some things for my application that had to be changed for installation - The MAP sensor has been relocated and requires additional wiring to redo it. Location. It also needs to be (carefully) sculpted with a dremmel to fit its new location. - The throttle cable bracket needs to be flipped as it has moved 1" to the left of this part. - The kit does not include gaskets. I recommend buying the intake manifold, fuel injector o-rings and throttle body gasket. Holes for the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line and the coolant return line from the throttle body. - The original coolant return hose clamp will not work because the clamp is too big to fit in the smaller gap between the intake manifold and the manifold. You need a conventional hose clamp that is tightened with a screw.
