. My dogs don't mind wearing this dog chain as they think it's just another collar. I have a 6 year old Chihuahua that I need to insert to the first zip and a 6 month old lab mix that I do not need to insert to the last zip but seems close. It's plastic so I wouldn't recommend using it with a real leash as it could break if the dog is jerked off. They are definitely suitable for Halloween or just for a laugh. Won't tug at fur or bother them when worn for long hours. In a puppy, we don't let her carry her for a long time, when she scratches, she tries to hook her with her paw, trying to tear it off. The rest of the chain stays with our dogs.
