Review on ๐Ÿ‘จ Parent's Bamboo Towels by Ivy Guerrero

Instead of using paper towels for everything EXCEPT . . .

Overall a really good alternative to paper towels with one exception. First, they are much more absorbent and durable than any paper towels. They absorb amazing amounts of water and for the most part can simply be rinsed or wiped off and dry very quickly. You can use them again and again. Haven't tried washing them yet, but they're certainly durable enough to withstand repeated washes in the washing machine. They're even durable enough to serve as shop towels (if you've used rolls of blue disposable shop towels, they look a lot like these but can be washed and reused). The only area where they don't really replace standard paper towels is when you want to use paper towels to soak up grease from bacon or wipe grease off a pan after cooking with grease. These bamboo towels can absorb grease, but you should never flush the grease from these bamboo towels down the kitchen drain, and they're too expensive to just throw away when you're using them for bacon grease. It pays to keep a roll of cheap, plain old paper towels to wipe or soak up grease and use them for literally everything else. UPDATE: I wanted to try using them to wash windows. I used a mixture of clear distilled white vinegar + water (50/50) in a spray bottle and these bamboo window cleaning towels. First off, these bamboo towels work really well for windows, but I discovered an important trick. You must use a bamboo cloth to clean the window after spraying the vinegar and water mixture. You don't need much. The vinegar will remove dirt and grime from the window. If you use too much vinegar/water the bamboo cloth (surprisingly) won't soak it all up and you'll see wet streaks. This is where the second bamboo cloth comes into play. Allow the strips to dry completely (2-3 minutes) and then use a clean, dry bamboo cloth to buff the strips. You may have to go over the window once or twice depending on how dirty your window was, but if you fold the bamboo cloth in half and then in half again you have 8 clean surfaces to use for polishing. You'll come out incredibly clean and lint-free (you may have some bamboo fibers left over from a wet bamboo towel, but no lint, and a second dry towel will remove them). Much better than using paper towels, newspaper or a mop.
