Review on Reese Towpower 8506911 Control Adapter by Seann Barnes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy peasee for Electrical

Is worth its $8. My '08 Chevy Express 3500 was relocated under the dash. If your vehicle was supplied with a towing kit, the wires for connecting the 8506911 adapter harness are located in the emergency brake and bulkhead area. You will be admitted. Red/with white stripe. dark blue, light blue (smaller caliber) black. There is a factory label indicating the function of each cable. You need to connect the red and white strip to the fuse box in the engine compartment. Preferably one of the terminals on the left side of the fuse box is visible (open) under the small terminal cover on the left side of the fuse box. I decided to connect to a red and white stripe about 2 feet away where it exited the engine bay from the firewall. Because I couldn't find the factory ring clamp that was supposed to come with the trailer. You may also need to remove some of the machine's guard to reveal the red/white power wire. You may need to remove the airbox to gain better access to the loom fuse box and engine compartment. It's pretty tight there. The 8506911 adapter harness connected to the Reese Brakeman IV controller. It works with some Tekonsha and Drawtite controllers.
