This adapter is not suitable for trucks. You need to tie this tight as it is just a braid. I bought it to make my setup tidier and now I can disable the brake controller if I want. This harness is NOT required for most brake boxes as you can simply cut the connector off the box and bolt the box directly into the truck. However, this does not allow you to easily remove it if necessary.

Instead of connecting my Jeep's wiring harness to brake control wires, I decided to use this wiring harness. That way if I need to replace/upgrade the brake controller I just have to disconnect it from this harness instead of reconnecting the wires from the controller. I just wanted the wires to be long enough to run to the battery/motor. Bay, but I had to crimp the long wires myself. It's not difficult, I just didn't need another connection point in the system.
