Review on Powerful DIYMAG Neodymium Cube Magnets- Grade N52, 1 Inch, Pack Of 2 by Eric Edgar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great magnets! Very strong but very fragile.

First, these are INSANELY strong magnets. I used them for a physics demonstration, and one of my students was not careful to empty their pockets before handling the magnet and it wiped the magnetic strip on his student I.D. in an instant. They will wreck havoc on your cellphone or computer. Not a toy by any stretch. These magnets are very difficult to separate, even if you are strong, and if they are anywhere near each other, they will come together so violently that they will chip or shatter each other. TAKE CARE! There is very little that you can do to keep these from smashing together once they are less than 5" away from each other. It hurts real pain to get your fingers involved between these. The little plastic spacer provided is not sufficient. I keep mine separated by a 1/2" thick piece of wood, and I can just barely get them apart that way when I want to use them. These are a great value though, super strong, and they perform better than I expected. Hours of fun with steel ball bearings or ferrofluid, and great for all kinds of demonstrations on magnetism.

Pros
  • Exceptionally strong magnetic pull
Cons
  • The magnets can cause injury if they snap together from a distance
