Review on Dependable 8Ft Rope Ladder Fire Escape - Spring Hooks, Weather Resistant & Lightweight With 2000 Lb Weight Capacity by Greg Cunningham

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I wouldn’t use this for a tree house or a deck where it doesn’t rest against a wall.

This probably would work to escape an upstairs window where it rests against a wall. It is way too unstable to use to descend from a upstairs deck or tree house.

Pros
  • COMPACT & PORTABLE: Thanks to its compact design and lightweight, outdoor climbing ladder can easily be taken on the go or stored under your bed, in closets or hung around windows without taking up too much space. This emergency ladders for homes and apartments is easy to use for both adults and kids while the lightweight allows even children to carry it with ease.
Cons
  • May not be recognized by all local safety agencies or fire departments

It is so unstable, even I, an aerial acrobat who swings off bars on ropes at high speeds every day, felt unsafe on it. I bought this to put up my trapeze. The rungs rotate and come out of place when you grab them. The rungs are far apart (probably to save money on materials) and hard to reach. The floppiness kicks your legs out from under you and puts all the weight in your hands. You can never rest your weight on your legs without falling. All your weight is in your fingers the whole time. It is less exhausting to climb a rope.
