I've never had a problem with key rings warping and getting damaged. It's all about the angle of attack. Open it only as far as necessary so that the end of the key is at the flattest angle over the key loop. I also don't expect the ring to open up to put something ridiculous inside, and I don't expect it to magically return to its shape. They look great and work well. No complaints and nothing but praise
