I've been using it for a few years now. I have thin brown hair that has started to turn gray. Mixing hot tea, henna, some apple cider vinegar to cover the grays and coconut oil as a conditioner, then heating for 45 minutes and then leaving for an hour or two gives me full gray coverage throughout and a richer but natural color. Brown looking hair with red highlights and also softer/healthier. The only catch is that if I cover all my hair, not just the roots (which is a bit tricky as I have short, thin hair), my hair will darken a few shades over time, but still very beautiful and look natural. Yes, it smells earthy when you do this (and that doesn't really bother me) and it takes 15-20 minutes to really wash it all off, but if you do it regularly it gets easier and easier and it's quite relaxing. I no longer worry about stains as the consistency is thick enough to stay where I apply and rinses out of the sink or bath with no problem. It also rinses off the skin.
