Doesn't fit the car they said fit!

I bought it for Chevrolet Impala 07. 3.5 I removed the old one (it was a pain in the ass). Seen to fit them and sure enough, the end of the thread is the wrong size! Not correct! Really sucks when you're in the middle of a job!
