Review on Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM πŸ“· Lens: Perfect for Canon DSLR Cameras - Fixed-Focus Excellence by Bao Ha ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

It took me a long time to choose between it and the 135mm F/2.0, I turned it over in my hands for a long time, tried to take pictures... in the end I came to the conclusion that they are not competitors, but complement each other. I use it on FF with 5D MK III. Very convenient focal length for portrait shooting. The problem with autofocus speed on the MK III is no longer so acute. For several months I got used to F / 1.2, since misses at such an aperture are not uncommon, but the lens can and should be used already from the maximum aperture!

Pros
  • Excellent blurring in the blur zone. The grip you get at f/1.2 gives you some incredible creative possibilities. Excellent color reproduction, very often the frame turns out even more beautiful than it actually was, without any processing at all. Excellent sharpness, especially in the center of the frame, already starting from the minimum aperture. Quality construct. A very convenient focal length for portrait photography.
Cons
  • Perceptible chromatic aberrations up to F/2.0. For some, the weight and price, although with the MK III the weight distribution is very pleasant, and the price - I do not regret a single.
