Need updates for regular use

I ordered these because my girlfriend was head over heels skating and bought a pair of Moxi skates and I wanted to be able to skate with her through our local parks and skating some of the towns we visit, as well as saving money by renting skates at the rink whenever we go. They're certainly solid, especially considering the price, but there are a few things to consider depending on your build and what you intend to use them for. The boot itself is in perfect condition, I have no complaints about it. I think they were maybe a bit smaller than most of my same size shoes but not so much that they were uncomfortable and I think the snug fit helps me feel more confident riding in them. I didn't break them in much, but I left the top two pairs of lace hooks untied because the fully laced boot was chafing my ankle. It's also worth noting that the laces are insanely long, to the point that even when they're wrapped around the ankle and double-knotted, they still hang pretty close to the wheels unless I'm tucking them into my boot . Anyway, they're comfortable, soft enough, and made so well that I'm not worried about them falling apart. Does his job. I'm not a heavy guy, just maybe 170 fully clothed, but I'm quite tall and the truck pillows that come with them definitely won't last long. I had to pull them on incredibly tight my first night on the rink before I felt even remotely stable on them. Every time I did a lap until I got to that point, the trucks would spin so much during turns that the wheels would actually touch the bottom of the boot, ripping some material off the bottom and usually knocking me off in the process. I'll have to swap out the pads for a firmer material to use them long, but if you're smaller or lighter you'll probably put less leverage on them and you'll be fine. The wheels are perhaps the best thing about these skates. They are medium diameter, 57mm and as far as I can tell they are medium hard (they don't seem to have the usual rating like 87A etc) and they have held up great on the rink but have also performed great in public cut off. I've taken them to the cobbled trails at a local park and while they can't handle cracks the size of my girlfriend's 65mm wheels, I've never been blown away by the little debris I encountered during the day. Definitely going to want softer wheels for these conditions because I can definitely feel every crack and crevice in the pavement shooting at my feet. The bearings are pretty weak. When the wheels are tightened to avoid wobbling on their axles, they turn by hand about two revolutions before coming to rest. I have to work a lot harder than my girlfriend on level ground to keep the same speed. The size of my wheels also contributes to this, but the bearings are definitely not very good. The nose pads are pretty much rubbish, I wore out at least 10% of the right side pad on my first night at the rink and ran at least 30% more in a public park on the sidewalk. They also have a habit of chipping rather than grinding, causing large chunks of material to be lost all at once with no benefit to your stopping power. These and truck cushions should be your first upgrades. In general, I won't have any obvious issues with it after replacing the footpegs and cushions, as I haven't had any issues with lack of travel ability yet. Over time I will get bigger and softer outdoor wheels and replace the stock bearings with Bones brands and after that they will be perfect in my eyes. I'm very casual about this, but these upgrades will be necessary to have a completely satisfying experience with these skates. I'm pretty sure I got my money out of the box as these $60 skates aren't going to be very high quality until you put more money into them, but I think it will work better overall. in this way as if I had spent over $150 for some of the most reliable knobs, especially as they came with wheels suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and I've had good experiences even with their default setting have. I would recommend them to anyone who just needs skates to put it simply.
