Questionable quality

UPDATE: The seller actually offered a discount on the item. I replaced the USP socket with a different version and after plugging everything in they work as they should. So far, so good. My first assessment is that these items are not of the highest quality. I do not have a page as a disclaimer. The product I bought was from somewhere else and the mount was not a tent type but a flat plate. HOWEVER the bushings are identical with the little rubber covers (which I'll get to in a moment) and if you look closely at the pictures and use the zoom function you can compare them to mine and see what I'm talking about. Here's the biggest problem I've faced so far. I received my package yesterday and there was no damage in transit. However, there are some manufacturing flaws, one of which concerns the installation of the product. I took some photos to show these issues and will try to summarize them as best as I can. The biggest issue with this item is that the threads/grooves on the outer rear diameter of the dual USB port output are not pronounced enough or deep enough for the locking ring to seat properly. The raised portion of the thread/groove looks almost rounded compared to the more pointed or square threads/grooves of the cigarette lighter outlet. This provides enough clearance that the locking ring can slip through a thread or two fairly easily and then appear twisted or warped due to ring misalignment or misfit. When properly aligned, the ring will have a loose fit with very little wobble and very little play. It's almost like the ring is too big. However, I tried swapping the snap rings and the result was exactly the same. Both rings fit snugly and correctly in the cigarette lighter socket, and neither of them fit in the dual USB socket. It wasn't until I took a closer look that I could see the defect. I tried to take a close-up so you can understand what I'm talking about. Because these parts are plastic, when trying to tighten the lockring for proper security, the lockring will just slip or tear off the top and then keep coming loose. This doesn't work for my app (install on dashboard of motorcycle sidecar) due to road vibration. This could potentially twist in the outlet and result in twisted wires. This can lead to completely different problems. I have contacted the seller and am waiting for a response. Here at Revain, in my experience, the sellers are often accommodating and will work with you to get a replacement or refund. I don't know how it is in my situation. Another problem with both outlet covers. The best way I can describe it is that the embossed letters and numbers on the front of the lids only install one way and are reversed when the lids are hanging from below. With a rubber hinge at the top, it will get in the way when trying to connect your device. It "flaps" down as soon as you let go of the lid. If you try to just twist the lid down so it's out of the way, the lettering on the front of the lid will be upside down. If you try to rotate the USB port exit cover to the position I described, it will NOT fit properly in the holes or holes. The tabs on the inside of the cover are slightly off-center (meaning they're closer to the opposite side of the hinge) so they won't align properly in any other position. It's not a problem if you don't mind the lids hanging from above. This is more of an aesthetic than a functional issue. I just prefer that they don't emboss the lid and make it such that it can be installed anyway. I haven't had a chance to hook up this product to see if it actually works, so I can't give a full review at the moment. All I know is that my first impression is not very high. I just wanted to encourage people to carefully inspect your product once it arrives. Oh yes, and as other reviews have said, there are no instructions so you might have to do some digging for the correct wiring if you're unfamiliar with it. Good luck to all.
