Holes Too Big

I bought this for my Addi King car as it doesn't have a tensioner like my Sentro. Unfortunately it didn't work as I had hoped. The holes are too big and don't give tension to my yarn. I even tried weaving yarn in and out of the holes but it still didn't work. As a result, I got a very loose hat with a knot.
