I don't have a steam table but wanted one for food storage. I don't always like plastic, but glass is difficult to lift and store, so I thought I might like them. I've always seen them in restaurants so I'm guessing they know what they're doing with food storage. I was concerned that they might not be suitable for home cooking, but I've used them many times. They fit very well in my fridge and the shape goes with most things. Round containers seem to take up space and sacrifice internal storage for most things (except small things like pasta, liquids or whatever). I brought hats that I like. The lids don't snap or anything, just fit like a saucepan lid, but they're flat so you can stack them in the fridge. The edges aren't sharp, but they aren't as smooth and thick as, say, a ceramic or glass jar. I really like them, but not enough to replace all of my plastic, ceramic, or glass containers. They all seem to have their specific purpose. Sure, you can't warm them up or see them, but they're great nonetheless. They're sitting in my fridge right now with leftover jelly from our little Halloween party (we're throwing parties for the folks in the house for random reasons since we're all doing so much together to help fight the pandemic). still embarrassing! haha!
