It works great but you need to understand how they work.

I lost my keys this week because I somehow put them in a bag of chips which was then thrown in the bin outside. Luckily it wasn't a garbage day. For two days I destroyed my house looking for them. I was angry because my car key was on the ring with my house keys. If you don't know where you lost your keys, having a good sense of security means you should be prepared for someone who might want to break into your home or steal your car. You just can't know any other way. It would cost me $350 to reprogram my car's electronic key system, FOB left and new. I would have to re-lock all the doors of my house and the mailbox. I would have lost over $500 if my wife hadn't thought that Mr. Magoo thoughtlessly tossed it in the trash and did "dumpster diving". I had. I usually find my keys in one of the 3-4 places where I usually "lose" them. But not always. And every time it's a problem. So I started studying key finding technology. I found many companies doing these things and started looking for reviews. The most well-received unit is without a doubt the Tile. But they last a year before their battery dies and the battery cannot be replaced! Thile will sell you new ones at a discount, but I'm not one to be tied to a company budget just for the battery. Each of the other key finder products had their fair share of good and bad reviews, but I settled on The Cube. Let me tell you what happened next. After ordering but before receiving The Cubes, I already had the app installed on three devices: two smartphones and a Samsung tablet. More recently, The Cube could only be used on one device. This has changed. I had already created a Cube account so I could see my devices on The Cube website and I had logged in from each of my three devices before two Cubes arrived (one for my wife and one for me). When The Cubes arrived at my house, I connected them both to my wife's phone and then tested them. Then I turned on my phone and tablet, opened The Cube app and voila! Here you are. No additional effort. I tested them with every device and they worked. I called each of the cubes, used each to call phones and tablets, and used them as remote triggers to take photos on my devices. There are a few things you need to know about how they work. They are only assigned to one device at a time. When my Cube is connected to my mobile phone and my wife browses The Cube app on hers, it tells her that my Cube is being used on my phone. She can't call my cube. This can only be done from my phone. But if I turn off Bluetooth on my phone, move my phone out of Bluetooth range, or turn it off, my Cube will automatically connect to your phone within a minute. Now she can call my cube and find it if it's lost. One day, for no apparent reason, one of the Cubes "disconnected" from the phone. The cube actually touched my phone. I think the Bluetooth receiver may have been swamped by the transmitter in the phone. This is not an uncommon radio phenomenon. When I separated them, my phone found the cube in about a minute. It wasn't instant. This is important because if you lose your keys while your phone is not in The Cube, they will be disabled. While you're looking for the keys, you'll need to move slowly so they have time to reconnect. Some people have also complained about The Cube's loudness. It's not a squeak, but it's audible unless the environment is too noisy. Plus, the little button on the device will light up when it's off, even if you're looking for it in the dark. I think the update when I connected The Cubes to the apps on my device may have fixed a lot of what others may have fixed. complained. First, each device can now be used with different devices, although not simultaneously. Cubes now have a network so others can find your lost item if you report it to the "Cube Community" through the app. I've been testing these things all day and they seem to be working as advertised. And next year, when the battery dies, I'll just use the little tool that came with The Cube to pop open the case and insert the spare battery that also came with it. If I find something I don't like, I update it. Today is July 14, 2018.
