Getting Started. like most. Why do they always put the engine on the front of the jack and not on the side? Don't they understand that some people have to climb onto the back of a truck when they're hitched to a trailer? This is a minor issue compared to where the real flaws of this jack show. Maybe I'm an isolated case or just the only loser who has the right qualifications for this, but here it is. I will also tell a short story. I bought my motorhome last year (the newest), I have stored it in the same place since last year and never had a problem. I'm tired of lifting my camper with the crank as it's a hassle to adjust the hitch for weight distribution and such. So I bought a bunch of cheap junk off ebay, mostly for next to nothing. That worked great for me. Every time I raised and lowered normally, there were no problems. Until I bought a new truck. I sold my F150 and got an F350. Now the cheap eBay jack was having trouble getting the back of the truck high enough for my WDH so I figured it was time to upgrade to a bigger jack with a better tongue. Next up is the Husky 4500. I thought this 4500 pound jack would definitely get the job done and once installed it turned out to work really well. I lowered it and raised it and all was well in the world. My Husky tongue jack had no trouble working. So I picked him up off the ball and unhooked him. Passed and everything. After 3 or 4 days I return to camp to pick up my camper for the trip. No, my storage room is on a slope towards the back of the room. So the camper tilts a bit towards the tongue, but that's what my wheel chocks are for. So we pull in, tongue-lift the jack just enough to get my ball under it, lower it, lift it to put the WDH chains on, and set everything straight. Worked great. I then lowered it to get a full load on my truck and fully take out my leg. does not happen. I try again, but nothing happens. I had to physically remove the jack to tow my camper. I was very upset at this point. I went home and took pictures to send to the manufacturer. (They were closed at the time). The entire shaft was bent. First off, the Husky rep accuses me of bending the stock and insists I went foot down. I didn't and NEVER did, but I explained that even if I did, the piece of 4x4 wood I was on would probably just roll out from underneath and the footboard would hit the dirt. Anyway, that didn't happen. I sent lots of photos and even a video of how my camper is. They were about to approve the claim when I told them the problem could be that my RV was parked on a slight incline. The footpeg is on a flat surface and I use chocks, but there can still be a little extra pressure on the foot. I explained this to the woman because I wanted to help the company eliminate the potential risk. My cheap ebay tongue jacks and my factory hand jacks have held up perfectly on this hill for a total of over 1 year. It's 1 year vs 3 days in the same class. it's 1 year with winter, snow, tailwind and load and never had a problem with the other 2 bushings. But Husky failed. Something went wrong here. Husky punished me for my honesty. They changed their mind and decided NOT to approve my warranty claim. I didn't even have this item for 1 week and they refused me a warranty claim because my RV was on a hill. Well, ladies and gentlemen, you must be wondering. How many times have you had to park on a hill? How many times have you had to rely on your jack to level your RV because the area you parked was not level? This company doesn't stand by their poor quality product because they know you as a customer have no footing. Until we have enough complaints, there is little we can do. My hope is that no tongue jack ever fails completely, leaving it with a bent A-frame, or worse, if it's in or near when the jack fails (fully bent). I say this because I know this company will not take any blame for anything like this. Instead, they will accuse you of believing in their product. I lost $200 on this junk pile but at least I can warn you to stay away before you spend your money or worse. Before you may get hurt or die because of this poor quality.
