Wrong Design/Doesn't Fit Properly WD My Passport Ultra 2TB

Buyer beware: Not all EVA hard cases are created equal. (Okay, maybe that's obvious.) Last year I bought the "KhanKa Black EVA Impact Carrying Case" and this year I was looking for a different color for the second drive I have; I wanted to be able to quickly tell two drives apart. I came across this case of Lacdo and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I didn't order the red one either as either would have been unacceptable for my use. I've attached some photos showing the differences between the new Lacdo case on the left and the old KhanKa case on the right. The first thing to do. I noticed and you can see from the photos I've attached how the security divider is attached. Rather than completely separating the contents of the mesh bag as shown in the first photo, the Lacdo has the divider sewn into the half of the case that will contain the drive. Therefore, the spacer should be folded ABOVE the drive as shown in the second image (note how HanKa is engineered so that the spacer sits neatly over the mesh case and fully protects the drive from whatever is inside the case). The next thing I noticed is that the width of the straps holding the disc is much thinner on the Lacdo than on the KhanKa (third photo); To me, thinner tape means lower quality and longer tape life - only time will tell. As you can see in the fourth and fifth picture, the Lacdo case doesn't really support the thickness of the My Passport Ultra 2TB drive and it needs to be force closed when the USB cable is inside the case (as shown). KhanKa didn't feel too tight to close with a cable (also as shown in the picture). The only benefit I found with the Lacdo case was that it was better shaped in width and length for this drive, but not in size. Depth. KhanKa was too long for the ride but that doesn't seem to be a real problem. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the Lacdo case and wouldn't recommend it for a thick drive like the WD My Passport Ultra 2TB. . This can be good for ultra-thin external drives; However, the buyer should be careful. A NOTICE. I paid full price for both cases and am not loyal to either company. I did NOT receive ANY of the cases in this review for free or at a reduced price like the others. I have expressed my unbiased opinion and backed it up with the attached photos. I hope this review will be helpful to others.
