Review on Efficient Cleaning Solution: Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner, Ideal for Front Load & Top Load Washers, Including HE - 6 Tablets by Angel Larson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Just fine but CLR works MUCH better for fragrance and lather

I've used them every month or two according to directions but the lather still collects in a reservoir under the drum which bounces onto clothes , and every time I wash my clothes, the car smelled like sewage. I was able to skip two fresh tabs in a row and it didn't affect the smell in any way. I ended up trying CLR (limescale and rust remover) per the directions for half a cup and it actually got rid of the smell completely. I won't buy a new one as it keeps the washing machine clean at best but does nothing if the stink builds up or occurs. I will be using the CLR from now on and will probably cost me a lot less in the long run. run. I'm glad I found the CLR because I couldn't stand the smell anymore and the smell of the clothes I wash aren't particularly dirty because these machines aren't designed to fully drain the water (shake, man can hear it splashing after the final cycle) and mechanics dealing with other issues said that they are not designed to drain all the water at the end of the cycle and that it is actually impossible (which is not true). Anyway, if this sounds like an advertisement for the CLR, it's good (but it isn't) because I spent a lot of money on Affresh and it doesn't compare to the CLR, which actually solved my problem. I'm glad he sat idle years ago.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
