Tracer is my choice for coloring and this product does the job. The only reasons I gave them 4 stars instead of 5: (1) The listing is wrong (says "Ford Approved" when their catalog says "GM Approved"). They need to update their lists. (2) They, like other dye manufacturers, must indicate on the product the specific absorbance wavelength (in nM) of the dye so that users can use the correct light to work with the dye. Long wavelength (as listed) is by definition a fairly broad range (315-400nM) and it would be a good idea for a tech to know how best to match the UV light to the dye of choice as there are three main types are . Light (UV @ 365 nM, Violet @ 400 nM and Blue @ 450 nM) for leak detection with UV fluorescent lamps. Each has a different wavelength and is absorbed differently by the UV fluorescent dye. While 365nM UV is sensitive to most dyes, violet (400nM) works better with A/C and cold dyes as well as some liquid dyes, while blue (450nM), which is generally considered compatible with all dyes, works poorly (if at all). ) with long-life coolants.
