I want to love this device, busy here. Here's what I like: + 10" 600p capacitive screen decent compared to other large 480p+ screens Decent responsiveness, not OE level but good overall + 4 cameras with 12V switching and good UI to control them if needed + User interface isn't entirely ugly and easy to navigate, low bar in this industry + it seems to have an audiophile sound but it doesn't matter to me, it just has to be as good or better than the standard + support is friendly and over the phone available but has its limitations With all these goodies, I'm having a hard time deciding whether to return this device as here are some deal breakers for me: - CarPlay and Android Auto are pretty poor Performance noticeably drops at times. The permission given to the device.600p seems to match (I took screenshots to confirm) - HOWEVER - the device looks like it will displayed at 480p, which is then upscaled to match the 600p display. It also washes out the colors, making Apple Maps difficult to view during the day. , with Google Maps, Waze and Sygic are slightly more visible but still not correct. So. It's pixelated, fuzzy, with bad colors and hard to see compared to the main UI of the device. The images in this Revain listing are most likely photoshopped and will not be of the quality you will receive. This is indeed a very expensive Android head unit. It runs Android 4.4.2 and I suspect Stinger/AAMP owes it to a remote development team instead of updating software and features themselves. That's important these days. If you get an Android main device, you can also get full access. Everything is wrong here, it's blocked. - The camera view does not have color controls or the ability to add guides. - Hardware button lighting is cheap, almost pastel. It's difficult to get a sharp, rich color, making it difficult to match LEDs to your original LEDs. The << and >> buttons cannot be remapped and I will never touch them. I wish it could be assigned or opened by CP/AA, Navigation, Cameras etc. Literally something more useful. Thick bezels make the device appear larger than it really is. No iDatalink (because the parent company owns the PAC). Finally, this device has the hardware, but the SOFTWARE is really mediocre for the $1,000 list price. They released the u update on 05/01/2020 but the build dates are actually from 04/17/2020. I called support about these issues and they suggested that after trying more phones, more cables and more factory resets, the device was simply faulty. I don't think so - it seems to be a genuine software issue, a device limitation. It doesn't matter if you have a 16.7M color display if you can't play CarPlay/Android Auto with full fidelity. As with the Alpine Halo 9 (iLX-F309), the real flaw is in the software. None of the devices met my expectations.
