Review on πŸ“ School Smart Electric Pencil Sharpener - Conveniently Sized at 5-1/2 x 3-3/4 x 7-3/4 Inches by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I guess most second graders enjoy sharpening their pencils in class, which is probably...

a battery operated blade that was more expensive and tended to sharpen pencils poorly or break the lead short before the end of sharpening. My second grader loves to sharpen his pencils, whether he needs it or not, as his teacher asked us to send in several boxes of pre-sharpened pencils. I think most second graders like to sharpen their pencils in class, which is probably why she asked for it too :). Anyway he tried several mechanical pencils before we went back to tried and true wooden pencils as I can buy a box of these for the price of a mechanical pencil. Also, he loses pencils everywhere - found one on the couch after I sat down - Oops! This sharpener is very well made and seems to last for years if not decades. It uses spiral blades for sharpening, similar to the old and reliable mechanical sharpeners that attach to a wall or table. Allows for precise sharpening and won't break the line even in the inept hands of a second grader. Fairly quiet operation - I don't think mine is as loud as some of the other reviewers here. The chip compartment is also a reasonable size and I'm not worried as my son loves to throw it in the bin too. If only he could find a job now so he could pay for this "luxury" I would be ready :).

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • piggy bank price
