This KVM switch works fine with my configuration with one exception. I have a (wired) keyboard, mouse, USB headset and USB camera and a 32" 4k monitor with HDMI port connected to 2 laptops. I push a button and everything changes in a second or so. Yes, if you toggle all open windows on a 32-inch display, you're switching to the laptop display, so you'll be moving windows a lot during that toggle, but it's not a big deal. It annoys me that when I'm done with work in the evening and the computers go to sleep, the monitor goes into an endless loop and tries to accept the video signal. I ended up going back to my Rosewill VGA KVM - https://amzn.to/3h1ABVK - and just split my screen by connecting HDMI cables from laptops to the monitor (not using VGA connections) and Rosewill for switching used mouse, keyboard and headset between two laptops. with a simple push of a button.
