Review on Hunter 51010 Southern Fan Bleached by Lora Schnabel

Great as long as you choose the right bulbs.

This is my third Hunter fan. I bought it for our guest room, which we use as a child's room. There was no light in this room and it got quite hot in the summer for several months, so buying this solution solved both problems. My room is 110 square meters and the longest side is 12.5 feet. According to several external websites (with slightly different recommendations) there should be a 40-44 inch fan in a room this size, so I went with this model. I've had it for a week now and so far I'm very happy with my purchase. First, it's very quiet. Installers weren't sure about this, as the connection between the blades and the part they're attached to felt a little loose to them, but surprisingly, it didn't wobble or make any noise, even on the highest settings. Second, it offers versatility. Depending on the room style and taste, you can swap out the blades and turn a white fan into a light brown one. It looks pretty stylish in both ways. Third, it uses quite a bit of power: 57 watts at maximum settings and lights off. That's 3W less than the more expensive model (53081). However, this model produces better airflow (4461 cfm compared to 3361 cfm for this device). The lowest settings are barely noticeable and still seem underpowered, but medium and high settings are perfectly acceptable for a room as large as mine (110 square feet). Finally, it's a fairly cheap product with good value for money. The 53081, which offers slightly better airflow at the cost of slightly more power consumption, retails for $110, while this one retails for $74. I don't think the difference is worth paying for, so I'm happy with this model. While I generally like this item, there are a few downsides I want to point out to help potential buyers: This model cannot be flush mounted to the ceiling. It comes with different length extensions, and while I haven't felt any noise or wobble so far, this design may cause problems in the future (but it also allows for better airflow compared to flush mounting). too much of. I'm not blaming this article specifically since almost all new fans have such fun designs, but as many other reviewers have pointed out, these bulbs are pretty hard to find and significantly more expensive than regular ones. The fan comes with three bulbs, but they draw a total of 180W, which is huge, and they also generate heat, so I recommend replacing those bulbs with energy-saving bulbs, but the candelabra-based CFL bulbs sold on Amazon are pretty limited and expensive so I bought mine at Walmart (3 CFL bulbs with 14w coil for $10). These CFL bulbs (handle carefully due to the mercury issue) protrude slightly from the cap but still look ok. In the end for my 110 sqm. feet, this fan produces light, cool air and style at a decent price. It works well and doesn't make any noise, so I recommend this product to anyone who needs that. UPDATE (10/14): 3 months of continuous use and still no problems and little dust.
