Hunter 51010 Southern Fan Bleached Review

I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this ceiling fan. It was a hunter and they have a good reputation so I decided to give it a try. It looks very nice and was easy to put on. The only difficulty was installing the fan blades as the way the fan was attached caused it to wobble when we tried to attach the blades. We defeated the problem and addressed it. I think we got a good deal for a good price.

I ordered this over the summer and just finally found the time to replace my old one. Everything was going fine until I put on the glass screens. One chipped. And this is how it was packed. There are no broken glass in the box. I've tried contacting the seller but it just gets me to a screen saying my return has expired. I just want this part. Anyone who has worked 3 hours to assemble a ceiling fan knows that it is not worth sending everything back anyway. GRRRRRRR!

I live in a very old house and the apartment below me had an old ceiling fan that sounded like a blower. I would give this fan a 5 if the lighting kit wasn't defective to begin with. About a minute after I turned on the light and fan after the installation was complete, a few sparks flew out of the fan case and all the lights went out. I called Hunter and they quickly sent me a replacement lighting unit. It was easy to remove the broken one and install the new one. After that it worked great. The fan is very quiet and provides a decent cooling effect in our modest guest room. Let's hope Hunter…

Nice lamp. We installed it in the kitchen dining area because it can get hot there when cooking. I was afraid it would look silly since most people don't have fans in the kitchen, but the brushed nickel went well with the appliances and the wood went well with the cabinets. I replaced a 52" Hampton Bay fan with this Hunter, but the mounting bracket is too wide between the screws for my outlet. I don't have to and don't want to climb into my attic. Look at the picture. What a waste of time. I need a narrower mounting option than the black bracket. Also, it was so important that the design had to go from a round sphere to this three-sided sphere. We had to replace the bedroom fan after a good 20 years of daily use so we're sticking with this brand as the latest Hunter seems to work well for us. It even came earlier than expected and at the best price I found anywhere (even locally). The son put it without any problems and without even looking at the instructions. 42 inches smaller than I thought although it is exactly as advertised and works perfectly. I had trouble installing it, but I connected an external daisy chain to a switched wall outlet and it makes a world of difference.
