42 inches smaller than I thought although it is exactly as advertised and works perfectly. I had trouble installing it, but I connected an external daisy chain to a switched wall outlet and it makes a world of difference. I installed the bushing after drilling the hole and it's a completely different setup. I replaced the candelabra bulbs with Costco LEDs, trimmed the hanging cords to make sense, and it's perfect for my small bedroom (15" x 17", 4.5 x 5.2 m). I use it to blow out some air at night so I can turn the AC off completely. A low speed is suitable for this. In the winter, I reverse the airflow to "pressurize" the room and keep the temperature fairly constant. You don't want to feel the airflow in winter, and you don't want that at low speed/reverse. It's perfectly quiet up to top speed, but who wants to sleep in a hurricane? At the 2 lower speeds it is quiet and during the day it is not audible even at maximum speed due to ambient noise. I found the best price ($20) at Costco, but after you've bought something, it's quite ok.
