This lamp is intended for a very specific market and requires electricity. It cannot be dimmed and has no diffuser, meaning the light can be harsh on reflective skin. What I don't like for GENERAL use: You have to provide power. No diffuser. No color or brightness adjustment. What I like for general use: Very flexible, can be wrapped around a tube or in a transparent tube (I wouldn't go 3" already. Can be taped to a sheet of glass. For special purposes: use with a laptop, gimbal or phone and as a power source. It's lightweight and very portable It weighs next to nothing You NEED an adapter to power your phone as it has a standard USB port /or you need temperature and color control there are cheaper alternatives that are brighter but heavier and plenty are fatter.
