TLDR - this part had me chasing nonexistent problems and just made me think I don't know how machines work. Don't just buy this product. When I first got this product, the air went both ways with no problem, which shouldn't happen as it uses a rubber diaphragm that only allows pressure to go in one direction. . Second, the gasket sent was 4mm shorter so it didn't seal well. I started giving up after chasing the issue for 2 years and finally gave up on what I should have done from the start, "maybe that part was bad". Well, that part was and is bad. I ended up buying a hose kit, PCV valve, gasket and bolts from Nova Parts Sales. It was a PCV valve, I was just starting out and I can't stress enough about this company, real doo doo dog flavored water parts. Not the only person with this issue but would not recommend purchasing this part. If you're wondering if your PCV valve is broken, try removing the filler cap from the top of the engine. If it's too heavy to lift, the PCV is bad, whether it's the gasket, the hoses, or the valve itself there's a leak in that system. IF you want a more "upgraded" version of the PCV, try an FSI oil separator or oil separator kit. They last longer, but cost significantly more money. If you're trying to do some DIY at home and fixing a car that's running really bad and you find this problem, try a kit from Nova Parts Sales.
