I bought these caps to replace the one that flew off the bike. As it came in a pack of two I thought that would be great as I only needed one and can keep one on the boat as a spare. After the first two rides, the cover came off while driving down the road. I used a rubber mallet to put the cap back on and when you put it on it feels very snug and I figured I wouldn't have any problems so I put another one on when the first one flew off and stumbled over the second again First. came off easily. Both seem to fit nicely when pressed with a rubber mallet, but they didn't last more than two rides, which is very disappointing. I saw another reviewer advise against using a rubber mallet and instead use a brick to pound on it. It strikes me as totally weird. Pounding that lid with a brick is definitely not the right tool, so I'm not sure what this reviewer was talking about. A rubber mallet should do the trick when putting on one of these caps. That being said, I'll go the other direction and pick up another brand to try.
