My mother's car fell off the shifter and it wouldn't shift. After inspecting and finding this item, we ordered it. It was difficult to peel off the old fragile one in the tight space but after that we first put a large piece of plastic on the ball end. Then the shifter cable is routed to the larger end of this sleeve and clamped with channel locks. It took some time back and forth, although one day she noticed the switch was solid and better than before. No problems so far and she's making it back and forth to work well.
