Always turn off the water supply before changing the ice maker filter in your refrigerator. Can be quite a mess if neglected. Otherwise it's the same filter that I change about every 12-18 months. Very easy to install after the plumber installed the supply line under the kitchen sink and we routed the line to the fridge. Unscrew the two ends, wrap the connectors with a few turns of tape and install. Tighten them to the point where there are no more drips and you'll be good for another 12-18 months depending on how much ice you make. Removes 90% of unwanted taste from tap water. The iced drinks taste as expected, with no chlorine or other tastes and/or odors that can occur with tap water.
