We have an 8 week old Labrador and we bought him because we sometimes need him to be safe while we are doing chores and not being able to watch him. It looks very nice even though part of the tree has broken off, but we decided to leave it as we need it as soon as possible. She escaped when we first put her in and she's tiny, but she figured out how to slide the side bar and slide out. Really easy to do. The only way to fix this is to find your own mount to attach to the wall. We chose it for the length it stretches as we couldn't find another one that long/wide. If you don't want to find a way to mount it to the wall I wouldn't recommend this. She didn't get off because she was so small, but because she just moved the sidebar.
