Review on 🐠 Optimized for SEO: Deep Blue Professional ADB88700 Biomaxx Nano Aquarium Filter by Jennifer Hirsch

Good product with some modifications

Love this little filter! I previously bought one under the RedSea brand from Petco (seems to be sold under a few other names too) but lost it after a few moves. Petco no longer sells them so I was thrilled to find the same filter here! GOOD The filter is really powerful for its small size. I keep the flow as low as possible, otherwise my rooster would constantly be thrown against the wall! The motor is not very loud at all. When I sleep it's about a foot from my ear and I'm still a heavy sleeper. I can't even hear him from across the room. The inlet tube is not long at all, making it ideal for many Nanos! If desired, the kit includes an extension for extending. Also, this model (unlike my last one) has an "adjustable level gauge" that keeps track of the filter level in each tank. BAD This filter comes with two foam inserts and that's it. Even with both foam inserts there is little space. I added some activated charcoal to add extra shine to my water and ensure aquarium cycles are running properly. Also note that some water will flow right out of the tank and back when the foam pads are all the way down. I dropped some carbon under the first cushion to give it a little platform to sit on and now all the water at least flows through it. I remember the last time I had one, a seal where the motor broke and leaked. I don't feel like they are made very cheaply compared to other filters, just a bit unlucky but be careful. It wasn't a very obvious leak and it was actually a very small one, I only noticed it when I happened to look around to check the foam pads.
