After reading cases where it was difficult to change the batteries, I tried to open the compartment but found that I couldn't. I tried prying with a screwdriver but it doesn't help. If I can't open it, I can send it back. If so, I'll post how it went. Update: I found that after 30 days it has expired and I cannot return it to Amazon. And I tried to contact the original seller twice and they kept telling me to keep trying that it should be opened. So I emailed Igaging now to see what they would do. I'll update this again if and when they reply. Last update: Damn battery drawer finally open. If you are struggling with this problem, note that you cannot open the box directly. There is a gap in the drawer and if you move it from left to right while pulling it out, it will open. I wish someone else would post this. I wish the manufacturer would have added this as a separate note so they could avoid the issue entirely.
