The purchase is absolutely worth it!

Bought two of these for field testing and was not disappointed. These are fantastic devices for the price. They come with two batteries and a dual charger, which comes in handy. The clarity of the video and more importantly the audio is almost amazing. The device's IR night vision is also amazingly clear. The device also has a 30-second pre-record option that you can turn on or off. This is fantastic for not missing anything as the situation progresses. The device must be powered on and in standby mode for the 30 second pre-recording option to work. We bought the 60g internal hard drive option and they last a ton. I mean a TON of videos. It would take us several months in shifts to run out of space. The downside we have with this is that the device doesn't automatically detect when it needs to switch to night vision mode. You need to enable IR manually. When you activate the IR light, 4 red lights illuminate on the front of the device, facing your subjects. You have the option to turn on IR without the need for active recording, so you can start recording an event very quickly at night. However, when the device is in IR mode, the battery drains very quickly. The IR button is also the same button as the laser pointer option *(I'm not entirely sure of the assignment)* and requires you to hold the button down for 3 seconds to activate the IR or slightly less and this turns on the laser pointer . Here's the catch. You have the option to turn the sound on or off and adjust the volume of the device. This way you will hear a short beep when you have successfully executed something, e.g. B. Enabling the IR option to let you know you did it without looking at the device. However, when the battery dies, it also makes a noise consisting of a series of beeps/rings that are NOT subtle. So if you're stalking or looking for someone, this will absolutely give you away no matter what volume you've set the sounds to. So if you turn the sounds off completely, you won't be able to hear the display sounds of things like IR or start recording, and you'll end up spending more time browsing and gaming with the device than you probably should. located at the top of the device and facing up toward the user's face. When the device is in standby mode, the indicator glows very bright green. It may sound silly, but it becomes a problem when working in very dark environments. It not only transmits your position but also affects your own vision as it affects your personal night vision. You have the option to turn off the display (the screen on the device itself) when it is idle or actively recording, which is necessary to conserve battery power. However, if your device is in sleep mode and the screen is off, you must first turn on the screen before you can start recording. Once the recording starts, you can easily turn off the screen again. Again, this may sound silly, but it's far from perfect and takes some getting used to, as it forces you to take extra steps when you should be focusing on something else. It would be better to be able to record at the touch of a button. In summary, the device isn't perfect, but it's still preferable to spend an absurd amount of money on the Axon. It has its own quirks and could use some improvement, but it's worth every penny.
