I bought this machine because of its Janome name and was hoping for a more powerful machine. I make big bags and almost always have to sew several layers. I also ordered in black but I have found that this is not the best choice. White is much better and helps when your lighting isn't good. The black shaded what I sewed which prompted me to purchase an additional portable lamp to give more light. After owning the car for almost 3 weeks I decided to return it. One of the reasons was that when I was sewing my big bags and let's say I went into a corner, I would lift the presser foot, to turn around and adjust a few layers of fabric as well. When I'm ready to start sewing again And I accidentally forgot to put the presser foot on, it sewed 3-4 stitches and then glued all the way. Trying to break it was next to impossible. I've had a lot of cars, but none of them beep or tell you the lever is up. In my way of sewing, this has happened several times. The second reason was that I had a terrible speed control time on the sewing leg. Sometimes I would start walking slowly and nothing would happen, and then suddenly everything would start too fast. Very frustrating. 3rd was the color. Unless you have a very bright sewing room and/or lots of light, and while at first I thought black would be different and pretty cool, it was a poor choice on my part. Don't get me wrong Janome is a very good brand but I will save more money and end up buying a higher class car. Trying to break it was next to impossible.
