Ok I've read other reviews including the manufacturer's website saying the smell is bad. NOTHING AT ALL! It smells amazing and I wish real laundry detergent still had that smell. After cleaning, the washing machine is in the room and it smells good in the washing machine. To me it smells just like Tide detergent did 20 years ago. We have rented washing machines (approx. 80) at various locations, which stand for a certain time in the summer and which we use to freshen up the musty smell from this downtime. Unfortunately, most modern washing machines are energy efficient, so warm water is always mixed with cold water. The secret is to turn off the cold water supply so the washing machine uses 100% hot water, as this works best when the water is hot. Stick with the cycle as the rinse is NEVER done with hot water so cold water must be turned on again or the cycle will stop. After cleaning, you may need to run your washing machine again to flush out any residue dissolved by this product.
